Umrah Visa FAQs

How long does Umrah visa processing take from the UK?

Typically 3–7 working days once all documents are submitted. During peak periods such as Ramadan and summer holidays, we recommend allowing 10–14 days. We will advise you on timing specific to your travel dates.

How much does an Umrah visa cost?

The Umrah visa cost is included in all Alharmain Travels packages — there is no additional charge. The Saudi government visa fee varies by nationality but is included in our quoted price.

Can women travel for Umrah without a mahram?

Women under the age of 45 must be accompanied by a mahram (father, husband, son, or brother) or travel as part of an official group registered with the Saudi Ministry of Hajj. Women over 45 can travel without a mahram but must travel as part of an organised group. We handle all group registration on your behalf.

What vaccinations do I need for Umrah?

The Saudi government requires a meningitis ACWY vaccination, administered no more than 3 years and no less than 10 days before travel. COVID-19 vaccination requirements have been removed as of 2024. We recommend consulting your GP regarding any additional health precautions.

Can I get an Umrah visa without using a travel agent?

Yes, individual Umrah visas can be applied for directly through the Nusuk platform. However, most UK pilgrims use a travel agent as it simplifies the process significantly, and the visa fee is included in the package.

What happens if my Umrah visa is refused?

Visa refusals are rare. If your visa is refused, we will investigate the reason and, if possible, reapply. In cases where the refusal is final, we will refund all monies paid minus the deposit and any non-recoverable costs.
